About The Role

We seek a motivated ML Engineer lead to join our team and specialize in core deep learning and computer vision. You will be responsible for developing and fine-tuning deep learning models that enhance our robot's capabilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our ML models are robust, scalable, and efficient. You will lead and mentor a team of ML engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional development.



Responsibilities


  1. Lead and mentor a team of ML engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  2. Drive engineering best practices through code reviews, daily scrum, proper project management, and task tracking.
  3. Design and implement test cases specifically tailored for robotics and perception systems or subsystems.
  4. Develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality and performance of ML models.
  5. Work closely with the ML and data science teams to identify key metrics and data sources for validating the ML models.
  6. Develop and implement automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline the testing process.
  7. Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with the development team to resolve them.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and product managers, to ensure the successful delivery of the ML models.
  9. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in testing methodologies and tools, and make recommendations for improvements to the testing process.
  10. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all ML models, test cases, and testing processes.


Requirements


  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in testing machine learning models and systems.
  3. Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
  4. Experience with developing and executing test plans for ML models and robotics systems.
  5. Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages.
  6. Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  9. Familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  10. Experience in testing on-device ML models and edge devices such as Nvidia Jetson is a plus.
