Role Overview:We are seeking dynamic and dedicated educators to join our Middle Years Programme (MYP) faculty as Individuals & Societies (I&S) teachers. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in fostering a love for social sciences and guiding students through the IB curriculum, emphasizing critical thinking, global awareness, and ethical considerations.


Key Responsibilities:


Curriculum Implementation:

  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging lessons aligned with the IB MYP Individuals & Societies curriculum.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Incorporate inquiry-based learning strategies to promote student engagement and understanding.


Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and development.


Collaboration and Professional Development:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and coordinate interdisciplinary units.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated with IB best practices and pedagogical advancements.
  • Contribute to the school community through participation in committees, events, and extracurricular activities.


Communication and Community Engagement:

  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, empathy, and collaboration.
  • Actively engage parents in the learning process through regular updates, meetings, and conferences.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Post-graduation in Social Science. A B.Ed. degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of teaching experience, with at least two years specifically in teaching Individuals & Societies within the IB MYP framework.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent social and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom to enhance learning.
