Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Developer with in-depth experience in DBT (Data Build Tool) to join our dynamic team. As a key player in developing and optimizing modern data pipelines, you will be responsible for designing efficient data models, managing CI/CD pipelines, and contributing to innovative cloud data solutions. If you're passionate about data engineering and cloud technologies, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and Cloud projects.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and Develop Snowflake Data Models :

- Architect, design, and implement robust and scalable data models within Snowflake, optimizing them for performance, storage, and efficiency.

- Create and maintain Snowflake structures including tables, views, and user-defined functions (UDFs).

- Ensure the data models meet the requirements for both structured and unstructured data and support diverse business use cases.

DBT Transformation Development :

- Leverage DBT to build, test, and deploy SQL transformations, ensuring that data is transformed and organized efficiently.

- Develop automated testing and version control for DBT models to ensure accuracy and reliability across environments.

- Monitor, fine-tune, and troubleshoot DBT models to ensure performance and scalability in a cloud environment.

CI/CD Pipeline Development & Maintenance :

- Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automated DBT workflows to enhance deployment speed and reduce manual efforts.

- Integrate DBT pipelines with code repositories (e.g., Git) and cloud platforms to streamline deployment across different stages.

Implement Best Practices for Snowflake and DBT :

- Ensure the adoption of best practices for performance optimization, scalability, and data pipeline efficiency in Snowflake and DBT environments.

- Continuously assess, monitor, and improve data pipeline efficiency, focusing on optimizing resource utilization and minimizing costs.

- Implement security and governance best practices, including role-based access control, encryption, and data lineage tracking.

Community Engagement and Internal Tool Development :

- Actively contribute to the DBT open-source community by developing or enhancing DBT tools, plugins, and custom solutions.

- Develop internal tools or plugins to streamline DBT workflow processes and automate manual tasks.

- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in the Snowflake and DBT ecosystems.

Data Pipeline Troubleshooting and Resolution :

- Troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues in Snowflake and DBT environments, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business users, to resolve data pipeline challenges and optimize data flow.

- Use advanced SQL debugging techniques and DBT debugging tools to resolve transformation and pipeline errors effectively.

Qualifications & Skills :

Snowflake Expertise :

- Minimum of 4+ years of experience working with Snowflake, including data modeling, schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization.

- In-depth knowledge of Snowflake's architecture, virtual warehouses, and storage mechanisms, as well as experience in setting up and managing Snowflake accounts and security.

DBT Experience :

- At least 1+ year of hands-on experience with DBT, including development of DBT models and creating custom macros and transformations.

- Proven experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines for DBT workflows, ensuring automated testing, version control, and deployment to different environments.

- SQL, Data Modeling, and ELT Proficiency:

- Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling, with the ability to write optimized SQL queries, analyze query plans, and refactor complex queries for better performance.

- Knowledge of ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, ensuring the effective movement and transformation of large data sets in cloud environments.

Problem-Solving and Collaboration :

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues.

- Excellent team collaboration skills, with a strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work closely with other data engineers and analysts.

Bonus Qualifications (Optional) :

- Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.

- Experience contributing to open-source projects or active engagement in the DBT community.
