Data Governance Analyst

This role is strategically important and must form excellent working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across business lines.Duties include the following:- Drive development, deployment and ongoing improvements to data management standards, policies, and processes, in order to enhance the quality, completeness and availability of the organization’s data. - Work with the Data Governance Council and Data Stewards across business units to ensure compliance with related standards, policies, roles and responsibilities. - Oversee and orchestrate Data Quality Management processes across the group - Contribute to the delivery, management and maintenance of Data Lineage models and Enterprise Data Catalogue - Help drive greater understanding and appreciation of best practice in data management and usage across the organization through structured training and other activities - Assisting with the mobilization and management of the Enterprise Data Stewardship community - Contribute to the evolution of client’s enterprise messaging models and schemas and provide guidance to development teams on use of schemas - Help drive improvements in the maturity of the firm’s data via master data management initiativesKnowledge- Deep understanding of current best data management & governance frameworks, practices & tooling - Familiar with current data modelling techniques, including conceptual, logical and physical data models - Familiar with financial messaging protocols e.g. FIX, FpML, etc. - Understand the fundamentals of data and analytics processes and procedures, with a strong understanding of complex data lineage in databases, schemas, tables, columns. - Nice to have: good understanding of wholesale Financial Services, across one or more asset classes e.g. Interest Rate Derivatives, Commodities, Commodity Derivatives, Bonds, Credit, Equities etc. - Nice to have: good understanding of all general and Financial Services specific legislation and regulation pertaining to data including GDPR, MiFID, REMITetc.Experience- 2+ years hands on experience as a data (governance) analyst or business analyst with a specific focus on data - ideally working within an Agile delivery environment - 2+ years hands on experience working with a business data catalogue, such as Colibra, Informatica, Alation etc. - Strong understanding – ideally with certification – and practical experience with one or more data management frameworks – e.g. DAMA DCAM, CDMC etc. - Previous experience implementing Data Management & Governance processes and standards into strategic projects and delivering enterprise Data Quality initiatives - Nice to have: good knowledge of Cloud Data Architectures E.g.
