ACCOUNTANT / ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE


Tesseract Esports is seeking an experienced and proactive accounting professional to join our growing accounts and finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date books of accounts, ensuring the completeness of documentation, and verifying financial transactions. You will play a key role in managing statutory compliance, assisting in the preparation of budgets and MIS reports, managing accounts receivables and payables, and liaising with auditors for the finalization of accounts. This position will report to the Director of Finance & Strategy and will collaborate closely with other members of the finance and accounts team to ensure smooth financial operations.

Tesseract Esports was founded in 2015 with an intent to transform mobile gaming into professional esport. We were the first to introduce mobile esports in South and Southeast Asia. Tesseract has since gone to partner with game publishers, brands to produce esports events and tournaments across Southeast Asia and went on to become the premier esports production services company in Southeast Asia. We are headquartered in Hyderabad, India and work closely with partners globally. 


We currently specialize in providing full and partial white-labeled tournament management, Broadcast and technology services for business seeking authentic esports engagements. We've recently worked with Krafton Inc, Super Evil Megacorp, Tencent Games, Razer, Mobcrush, Garena and several other partners on many successful live and online esports activations. 


Requirements/Skills

·       Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, with experience in cost center and profit center-based accounting.

·       Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally ERP and Zoho Books, along with other ERP and financial filing systems.

·       Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.

·       Ability to ensure timely and accurate accounting entries with complete narration.

·       Experience in checking and verifying expenses, purchases, and maintaining requisite documentation, such as vouchers, POs, PIs, and invoices.

·       Expertise in monthly bank reconciliation and GST reconciliation.

·       Experience in handling statutory filings, including GST, TDS, Advance Tax, PF, and Professional Tax.

·       High attention to detail with a focus on accurate documentation and record-keeping.

·       Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and budget management.

·       Knowledge of statutory compliance, including Income Tax and labor laws.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

·       Excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.  


You will be responsible for (not limited to)

·       Preparation and timely maintenance of all books of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

·       Organizing and maintaining vouchers and supporting documentation for all transactions.

·       Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cash management, accounts payable/receivable, credit control, and petty cash.

·       Preparing cash flow statements and conducting weekly/monthly reconciliations for banks, vendors, and customers.

·       Generating debtors/creditors ageing analysis reports on a monthly basis and following up with customers for debt collection.

·       Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.

·       Ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns (TDS, GST, professional tax, Provident fund) and making payments within the prescribed deadlines. Performing GSTR reconciliation.

·       Assisting in tax matters, internal controls, and audit processes, and liaising with auditors for the finalization of accounts.

·       Invoicing clients, preparing purchase orders, and managing accounts receivable/payable.

·       Managing payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

·       Conducting daily accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, verifying invoices, and maintaining accurate records.

·       Collaborating with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

·       Maintaining strong coordination with banks and vendors, performing regular reconciliations, and resolving issues promptly.

·      Contributing to the preparation of financial reports to support decision-making.


Your Experience 

3-7 years’ experience in accounting, finance or related field

UG: B.Com, CA-Inter

PG (preferred): M.Com, MBA/PDGM in Finance
