The Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding customer business processes and requirements, and translating them into specific software requirements.The role involves recommending solutions that are both commercially viable and competitive.The Business Analyst will document and analyze information and data, evaluate inputs gathered through workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, and task analysis, and ensure alignment with technical designs and specifications.The role also requires effectively communicating with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements, including GUI, screen, and interface :- Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams.- Work with clients directly (onsite/offsite) to capture requirements, ensuring clear communication and understanding.- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.- Document business processes, workflows, and user stories using standard notations (e.g., UML, BPMN).- Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to recommend optimal solutions.- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and developers to align requirements with solution design.- Manage requirement traceability throughout the project lifecycle.- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations for requirement gathering and validation.- Mentor clients around process improvements and best practices.- Support quality assurance teams with requirement clarifications, acceptance criteria, and test case validations.- Ensure all deliverables meet functional quality and business needs.- Provide training and knowledge transfer to business users and stakeholders.- Contribute to team management, guiding junior analysts where :- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.- Strong technical skills coupled with business intelligence and a deep understanding of customer needs.- Proven experience in business analysis, requirements management, or product ownership.- Exposure to Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.- Strong stakeholder management and communication & Analytical Skills (Required/Preferred) :- Proficiency in requirement gathering tools (JIRA, Confluence, Rally, Azure DevOps).- Strong knowledge of business process modeling tools (MS Visio, Lucidchart, Bizagi).- Experience with SQL queries and working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).- Familiarity with APIs, data flows, and system integration concepts.- Knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools (Balsamiq, Figma, Axure).- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Data Analysis) and reporting/dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau).- Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.- Awareness of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an added advantage.- Basic knowledge of programming/scripting (Python, R, or Java) is a plus.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to conduct root cause analysis (ref:hirist.tech)
