Position Overview :

The Data Solutions Engineer will focus on designing and implementing data pipelines, preparing data for analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders to generate insights that drive business improvements. This role is an individual contributor position with a split of 70% technical and 30% functional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Business/Data Understanding :

- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand the data generated from various government and educational projects.

- Identify key business questions and challenges that can be addressed using the captured data.

- Translate business needs into data-driven solutions.

2. Data Preparation :

- Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into data warehouses or other storage systems.

- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality during the preparation phase.

- Work on data cleaning, transformation, and normalization to make data analysis-ready.

3. Modeling of Data :

- Develop and maintain data models that represent the underlying structure of the data.

- Ensure that data models are scalable and adaptable to different use cases and future needs.

- Work closely with analysts to ensure that data models align with business requirements.

4. Evaluation and Stakeholder Empowerment :

- Analyze data to generate insights that can be used to improve products and projects.

- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations that help stakeholders understand the data and make informed decisions.

- Provide recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic business decisions.

5. Continuous Improvement :

- Identify and implement opportunities for improving data processes and systems.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and methodologies to ensure best practices are applied.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.

- Proficient in SQL, Python, and ETL tools.

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
