Developers analyze, design, code, test, and implement more complex systematic solutions to meet customer requirements that adhere to Highmark IT standards and policies. Developers provide general support to maintain more complex applications that meet the service levels, system availability, performance, and quality levels required by their customers. May mentor less experienced team members.Essential Responsibilities•Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure full-stack applications using Java and Angular.•Lead the development of back-end services, APIs, and integrations with various systems.•Implement and maintain front-end components and user interfaces, ensuring a seamless user experience.•Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.•Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.•Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.•Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other technical teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.•Utilize and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, specifically within OpenShift environments.•Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in AI companion tools, and apply them.•Performs work in compliance with all Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies and procedures.•Other duties as assigned or requested.Required Skills and Experience:•6-9 years of progressive experience in full-stack software development.•6+ years of hands-on experience as a Full Stack Java Developer.•3+ years of professional experience with web development using Angular (version 11 or higher).•Expert-level proficiency in Java Core (1.7/1.8 or higher) - Mandatory.•Extensive experience in developing applications with Spring MVC and Spring Boot - Mandatory.•Proven ability to design and implement RESTful Web Services and APIs - Mandatory.•Strong working knowledge of Oracle Database and SQL - Mandatory.•Solid experience with JDBC and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks like Hibernate or JPA - Mandatory.•Experience with OpenShift container platform setup and deployment.•Proficiency in multiple front-end languages, libraries, and frameworks (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery, Angular 9+).•Demonstrated experience with version control systems, specifically Git and GitLab.•Strong practice in writing comprehensive JUnit tests for code development (Mockito/Power Mockito).•A strong inclination and ability to rapidly adopt and integrate new AI companion tools into the development workflow.Preferred Qualifications:•Experience in the healthcare industry.•Familiarity with agile methodologies.•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.ailable
