VB6 to C# Migration India

5+ in Computer Science or Electronics, or Software Application Development & Migration


Job Overview :

We are seeking experienced engineers proficient in converting legacy VB6 applications to modern C# applications using Visual Studio. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of .NET technologies, VB6, and be capable of reverse engineering and modernizing legacy systems.


Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze and understand legacy VB6 applications

- Convert VB6 code to C# using Visual Studio


- Refactor code to follow modern .NET architectural patterns

- Redesign legacy components into modular, reusable code

- Conduct thorough unit and integration testing

- Maintain detailed documentation during the SDLC

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders


Required Skills :

- C#/.NET Development Advanced (5+ years)

- VB6 (Visual Basic 6.0) Strong working knowledge

- VB6 to C# Migration Hands-on experience in full-cycle migration projects

- Visual Studio Expert in using it for both VB6 and C# environments

- Software Design & Refactoring Able to modularize and optimize legacy logic

- Communication Skills Clear and effective verbal/written skills

- Problem Solving Strong debugging and analytical skills


Additional Requirements :

- At least one complete VB6 to C# migration project

- Ability to reverse engineer legacy logic and implement it in modern .NET

- Strong understanding of SDLC processes and documentation best practices

- Proactive, self-driven, and capable of independent execution


Technical Expertise :

- C# 5+ years (Advanced)

- .NET 5+ years (Advanced)

- Visual Studio Code/Visual Studio 4+ years (Advanced)


Roles and Responsibilities :

- Analyze existing VB6 applications to understand business logic and technical flow

- Migrate VB6 code to C# using Visual Studio and follow .NET best practices

- Perform code refactoring and modularization to improve maintainability and scalability

- Redesign outdated components using modern .NET frameworks

- Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure accuracy post-migration

- Collaborate with QA and project management teams to identify and resolve defects

- Maintain migration documentation including mapping logs, user manuals, and change records

- Participate in code reviews, knowledge transfer sessions, and technical discussions

- Ensure projects meet SDLC standards, timelines, and quality benchmarks

- Work independently and manage task priorities with minimal supervision
