Job Overview

The role of Prosthetic Technician at Dr. Moopen's Medical College is a mid-level, full-time position based in Wayanad. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining prosthetic devices, ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in orthotic fabrication to ensure accurate production and modification of prosthetic devices (Mandatory skill).
• Skilled in sculpting and casting techniques to craft custom-fit prosthetics tailored to individual patient needs (Mandatory skill).
• Adept at using various hand tools for the efficient and precise construction and repair of prosthetic devices (Mandatory skill).
• Experience with 3D printing for the creation of lightweight and durable prosthetic components.
• Knowledge of CNC milling to enhance the customization and accurate production of prosthetic parts.
• Competency in using CAD software such as AutoCAD to design and modify prosthetic devices efficiently.
• Understanding of human anatomy and physiology to create prosthetics that ensure comfort and functionality.
• Familiarity with materials science to select appropriate materials for durability and patient comfort.
• BPO/ MPO- Prosthetics & Orthotics qualification.

• Fabricate and fit prosthetic devices following the prescriptions and specifications provided by healthcare specialists.
• Conduct repairs and modifications to prosthetic devices, ensuring optimal performance and patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess patient needs and provide customized prosthetic solutions.
• Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained properly and operated according to safety standards.
• Document and update patient records with details of prosthetic device fittings and adjustments.
• Perform quality checks on prosthetic devices to guarantee precision and adherence to established standards.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in prosthetic fabrication to improve service delivery.
• Educate patients and their caregivers about the use and care of prosthetic devices for improved user experience.
