Candidate should have an experience of 4 - 6 years as a PostgreSQL Database Administration with in-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture and should have worked on latest versions of EnterpriseDB and community PostgreSQL Databases like on EPAS 14, EPAS15, PostgreSQL 13,14,15


Responsibilities:

  • Must have expertise in Installing, configuring, securing, and managing PostgreSQL to ensure better performance.
  • Should be able configure and maintain streaming replication.
  • Able to configure jobs for routine activities and troubleshooting them in case of failures.
  • Familiar with backup/recovery strategies.
  • Able to understand and work with BARMAN backup tool.
  • Creating database users, controlling access, and making sure right people get access to right data and looking after the security issues.
  • Should have working experience on EPAS 14 , EPAS15 , PostgreSQL 13,14,15.
  • Ability to perform all Database Administration (DBA) tasks like performing installations, database backups and recovery, monitoring logs and hard disk consumption growth rate etc.
  • Configuring and maintaining and troubleshooting the Database replication and experience in DR activities.
  • Performing Maintenance Tasks such as Vacuum, vacuum full, Analyze on required tables.
  • Troubleshooting Space issues and performing Capacity Planning for Production Database servers by clearing old backups and logs.
  • Database performance monitoring and tuning when required as per application and business requirements.
  • Experience with performance monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Should have scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for automating database tasks.


  • Should be able to take base backups using the pg_basebackup and doing the restoration on the staging server based on the need from application team.
  • Should have familiarity on configuring the memory parameters and logging parameters.
  • Should be able to install and configure streaming replication between Production and DR site.
  • Should have good experience in PostgreSQL tools PGAdminIV, pg_badger.
  • Should be able to manage accesses and create users and roles based on the requirement.
  • Must understand security configurations for PostgreSQL cluster.
  • Should be able to Monitor and maintain database server for their optimal performance and ensuring 100% availability of the database.
  • Should be able to analyze the database logs.
  • Should have working knowledge about the database links.
  • Should have good knowledge about Linux operating systems and native tools-commands for monitoring the resource consumption.
  • Should have good knowledge about database extensions.
