Conversion Principal Consultant

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage conversion projects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful implementation and delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their conversion requirements, objectives, and business processes, and provide expert guidance and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement conversion strategies, methodologies, and project plans tailored to meet client needs and objectives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including technical consultants, developers, and business analysts, to execute conversion activities and deliverables.
  • Assess legacy systems, data sources, and business applications to identify conversion scope, data mapping, and transformation requirements.
  • Design and implement data migration processes, scripts, and tools to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data into target systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and testing to verify conversion results and resolve any data discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to junior consultants and project team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners, and serve as a trusted advisor on conversion-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a conversion consultant, data migration specialist, or project manager, with a focus on enterprise-level conversion projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of data migration methodologies, tools, and best practices, including ETL processes, data mapping, and transformation techniques.
  • Experience with conversion projects involving complex legacy systems, multiple data sources, and large-scale data volumes.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, scripting languages, and data manipulation tools for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and mitigate risks to ensure project success.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or data management (e.g., CDMP) are a plus.

Skills:

  • Data Migration: Planning, executing, and managing data migration projects, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation.
  • Project Management: Leading cross-functional teams, managing project scope, schedule, and budget, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to ensure project success.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrating proficiency in SQL, ETL tools, scripting languages, and data manipulation techniques for data conversion and integration.
  • Leadership: Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to project team members, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Preferred:

  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or data management (e.g., CDMP).
  • Experience with specific conversion tools and platforms, such as Informatica, Talend, or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific conversion standards, regulations, and best practices.
