Software Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities :

1. Manual Testing :

- Execute comprehensive manual testing to validate software functionality, reliability, and stability.

- Identify, document, and track software defects, reporting them through bug tracking tools like JIRA.

- Collaborate with developers to reproduce, analyze, and resolve reported bugs.

2. Test Case Development :

- Write, update, and maintain detailed and well-structured test cases to cover all aspects of the software.

- Ensure test cases provide thorough coverage of all business requirements, edge cases, and user scenarios.

- Use test management tools like TestRail to organize and manage test cases efficiently.

3. Web Automation :

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright to validate the functionality and performance of web applications across different browsers and devices.

- Ensure that automation scripts are stable, reusable, and integrated into the overall testing strategy.

4. API Automation :

- Create, execute, and maintain automated API test scripts using tools like Postman or similar.

- Validate API responses, ensuring data integrity, error handling, and performance meet business requirements.

5. Defect Reporting & Tracking :

- Document software defects clearly and concisely, ensuring reproducibility and clarity for developers.

- Use bug tracking tools like JIRA to monitor the status of defects from identification to resolution.

- Perform regression testing after bug fixes to ensure issues are resolved without introducing new defects.

6. Collaboration & Communication :

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand product requirements and testing scope.

- Communicate testing progress, results, and defect status to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

7. Test Documentation :

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of test strategies, plans, test cases, and results.

- Keep automation scripts up-to-date with changes in application functionality or architecture.

8. Continuous Improvement :

- Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.

- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging testing tools, and technologies.

- Advocate for automation and continuous integration in the testing lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience :

- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in manual testing, focusing on web applications and API validation.

- Proven experience in writing high-quality test cases that cover both functional and non-functional aspects.

Technical Skills :

- Strong knowledge of manual and automation testing methodologies.

- Proficiency in Playwright for web automation.

- Experience with Postman or similar tools for creating and running automated API tests.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

Problem-Solving Skills :

- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying and resolving issues.

- Ability to think critically and troubleshoot complex problems.

Tools & Technologies :

- Familiar with bug tracking tools like JIRA and test management platforms such as TestRail.

- Experience with version control systems (e.g. , Git) and understanding of Agile development practices.

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar for continuous integration.

Communication & Collaboration :

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with remote and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills :

- Hands-on experience with automation testing.

- Experience in Agile development environments.

- Understanding of robotic software applications or background in robotics.

- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with performance testing tools and frameworks.

Nice to Have :

- Version Control : Experience with Git for version control and collaborative coding.

- CI/CD Tools : Knowledge of Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

- Agile Methodologies : Prior experience working within Agile Scrum or Kanban frameworks
