Your role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, writing and maintaining code, and ensuring the optimal performance and functionality of ServiceNow applications. Based in Bengaluru, you will be a key player in enhancing our ServiceNow environment to meet business needs and drive digital transformation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Development and Customization:
- Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules based on business requirements.
- Create and maintain ServiceNow scripts, including Business Rules, Script Includes, and Client Scripts, to support application functionality.
- Implement ServiceNow integrations with other systems using REST, SOAP, or other APIs.
Configuration and Maintenance:
- Configure ServiceNow platform components such as forms, fields, workflows, and UI policies to meet specific business needs.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks including patching, updates, and system upgrades to ensure platform stability and performance.
Collaboration and Requirements Gathering:
- Work with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to gather and document functional requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support during the requirement analysis and design phases.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure the functionality, performance, and security of customizations and integrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including debugging and optimizing ServiceNow code.
Documentation and Best Practices:
- Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, implementation guides, and user manuals.
- Follow best practices and coding standards to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
Support and Training:
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and internal teams on ServiceNow functionalities and best practices.
- Assist in the development of training materials and user guides.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and industry trends to suggest and implement improvements.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of development processes and practices.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with a strong understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities and limitations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ServiceNow development, including experience with JavaScript, Glide APIs, and ServiceNow scripting.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow platform components such as Service Catalog, Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
- Experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, or other web services.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and deployment processes.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Preferred:
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with ITIL processes and best practices.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Orchestration, and Performance Analytics.
