Roles and Responsibilities:

Development and Customization:

  • Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules based on business requirements.
  • Create and maintain ServiceNow scripts, including Business Rules, Script Includes, and Client Scripts, to support application functionality.
  • Implement ServiceNow integrations with other systems using REST, SOAP, or other APIs.

Configuration and Maintenance:

  • Configure ServiceNow platform components such as forms, fields, workflows, and UI policies to meet specific business needs.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks including patching, updates, and system upgrades to ensure platform stability and performance.

Collaboration and Requirements Gathering:

  • Work with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to gather and document functional requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the requirement analysis and design phases.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure the functionality, performance, and security of customizations and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including debugging and optimizing ServiceNow code.

Documentation and Best Practices:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, implementation guides, and user manuals.
  • Follow best practices and coding standards to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.

Support and Training:

  • Provide technical support and training to end-users and internal teams on ServiceNow functionalities and best practices.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and user guides.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and industry trends to suggest and implement improvements.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of development processes and practices.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with a strong understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities and limitations.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow development, including experience with JavaScript, Glide APIs, and ServiceNow scripting.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow platform components such as Service Catalog, Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, or other web services.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and deployment processes.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Preferred:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Orchestration, and Performance Analytics.
