The Lead Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based database systems within a shared service industry. This role will lead a team of DBAs, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of databases while driving the adoption of best practices in database management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Database Architecture and Design:
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based database solutions.
  • Ensure database architecture aligns with business objectives and industry standards.
  • Lead the transition of on-premises databases to cloud platforms.
  1. Team Leadership and Management:
  • Manage and mentor a team of database administrators.
  • Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  1. Performance Tuning and Optimization:
  • Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement strategies for database tuning and query optimization.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and capacity planning.
  1. Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure databases are secure and compliant with industry regulations.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  1. Backup and Recovery:
  • Develop and maintain database backup and recovery plans.
  • Ensure regular backups are performed and recovery procedures are tested.
  • Manage disaster recovery planning and execution.
  1. Automation and Scripting:
  • Automate routine database administration tasks.
  • Develop scripts for database maintenance, monitoring, and management.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform for database deployments.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with Cloud Team ,Security team , and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in project planning and provide technical expertise.
  • Communicate database-related issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems and processes.
  • Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and incidents.
  • Ensure documentation is up to date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BE /B.Tech (Computer Science/IT ).
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in multiple database administration (Oracle ,Postgres, Mysql, MS SQL ,Dynamo DB ,Redis) .
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Proven experience in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of database security and compliance requirements.
