Position Summary :

As a Database Services Engineer / Database Administrator, you will play an important role delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients and maintaining a robust and secure data infrastructure across our suite of products and platform solutions. Additionally, you will help guide the technical implementation and maintenance of database systems and help ensure the scalability and reliability of our data systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MySQL Database Management: Design and implement backup, recovery, and high availability strategies for databases hosted on AWS RDS.

- Clustering and High Availability: Configure and manage PostgreSQL clustering solutions, including but not limited to streaming replication, logical replication, and pgpool. Implement and maintain maintenance scripts to ensure high availability. Design and manage database failover solutions and replication strategies to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.

- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient query processing and response times. Collaborate with software engineers to improve the performance of applications and query structure.

- Data Pipelines: Design, implement, and manage data pipelines to facilitate the efficient flow of data across systems, ensuring data quality and integrity.

- Analytics: Design and implement analytical data services.

- Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges, identify root causes, and provide innovative solutions to business challenges.

- Project Management: Lead and support engineering projects within the Data Services team, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.

- Documentation: Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, making it accessible to the team and other stakeholders. Work with different teams to understand data and create required data models.

- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with application developers to tailor database structures and features for application requirements.

Skills :

- Previous experience as a database administrator, data engineer, or data architect.

- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB databases. Proficient in MongoDB tools (i.e. MongoDB Atlas).

- Experience with AWS RDS and cloud database management.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Experience in designing data environments for Payroll, Accounting, Construction, and other tech-enabled services industries (Preferred).

- Familiarity with Object Relational Mapping (ORM) concepts industries (Preferred).

Experience :

- 5+ years proven experience in data engineering with prior experience in OLTP and OLAP systems.
