Engineering Lead

Role Overview TheLead Engineerwill lead the complete technology build and delivery of theBLive Mobility platform , a global SaaS solution integrating EV fleet management, charging infrastructure, driver operations, and carbon management. This role demands ahands-on engineering leaderwho can architect, code when needed, and manage a cross-functional team across frontend, backend, DevOps, and QA. The AVP will define the technical roadmap, drive system design, ensure performance and security, oversee database migration, and lead the transition from a monolithic to a microservices-based architecture to scale the platform across India and globally.Key Responsibilities 1. Technology Leadership & Platform Ownership Own the end-to-end engineering strategy, roadmap, and execution for the BLive Mobility platform. Architect and build a scalable, modular, multi-tenant SaaS platform integrating Fleet, Charging, Driver, and Carbon modules. Collaborate closely with Product Management to translate feature roadmaps into sprint-ready engineering plans. Drive continuous delivery, code quality, and release discipline for platform reliability and uptime. Manage system scalability, availability, and cost optimization on AWS Cloud. 2. Hands-On Development & Architecture Lead by example — contribute to coding, architecture design, and code reviews where required. Deep expertise inNode.js/NestJS ,microservices , andAWS Cloud Architecture . Provide technical direction forFlutterandReact -based frontend development. Hands-on experience withKubernetes (EKS) ,containerization , andInfrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible) . Design and maintainevent-driven systemsusingKafka, SQS, SNSwith strong observability usingELK, Prometheus, Grafana . Overseedatabase migrationprojects, ensuring seamless transition from monolith to microservices. Manage integrations with ERP systems, OEM telematics, CIAM, and external APIs. Partner with DevOps for secure, automated, and observable infrastructure (CI/CD, IaC). 3. Engineering Execution & Team Leadership Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team (Frontend, Backend, DevOps, QA). Create a culture of ownership, innovation, and technical excellence. Conduct regular technical and database schema reviews. Collaborate with Product and Business teams for effective sprint planning and delivery. Oversee vendor and partner integrations for accelerated project timelines. 4. AI, Data, and Innovation Drive adoption of AI/ML for predictive analytics, route optimization, and carbon insights. Work with data teams to establish real-time, event-driven data pipelines. Explore emerging technologies to enhance platform intelligence and operational efficiency.Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of experience in software development, architecture, and engineering leadership. Proven track record in building or scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms. Deep expertise inNode.js/NestJS ,microservices , andAWS Cloud Architecture . Hands-on experience withKubernetes (EKS) ,containerization , andIaC (Terraform/Ansible) . Strong understanding ofevent-driven systems(Kafka, SQS, SNS) andcloud observability(ELK, Prometheus, Grafana). Proficiency inFlutterandReactfor modern frontend architecture. Experience withRDBMS and NoSQL databases(Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB). Proven experience indatabase migrationandmonolith-to-microservices transformation . Exposure tosecurity, compliance, and performance tuningat scale. Ability to make build-vs-buy decisions, manage vendors, and balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Prior experience in EV mobility, fleet tech, logistics, or IoT platforms. Familiarity with AI/ML integrations, telematics data, or carbon analytics.Soft Skills Strategic thinker with a builder’s mindset. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
