Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled SCRUB NURSE OT to join our team at Spandana Hospital in Bangalore. This is a full-time, mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of work experience. As a part of our operating theatre team, the scrub nurse will play a crucial role in surgical procedures, ensuring that the environment, instruments, and equipment are prepared and maintained in accordance with high-quality standards.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Surgical Instrument Handling (Mandatory skill): Capable of efficiently and accurately handling diverse surgical instruments during procedures.
  • Aseptic Technique (Mandatory skill): Maintain the necessary sterile environment, ensuring patient safety and reducing infection risks.
  • Operating Room Equipment Management (Mandatory skill): Proficient in setting up, managing, and troubleshooting operating room equipment.
  • Patient Monitoring: Skilled at observing and monitoring patients' vital signs to ensure a safe surgical procedure environment.
  • Collaboration with Surgeons: Able to work closely and seamlessly with surgeons and the surgical team to anticipate needs and exceed standards.
  • Infection Control Procedures: Deep understanding of infection control principles to guarantee the highest safety and hygiene standards.
  • Sterilization Techniques: Expertise in using sterilization techniques to prepare surgical instruments and maintain a sterile setting.
  • Surgical Procedure Coordination: Proficient in coordinating with healthcare professionals to ensure streamlined and efficient surgical proceedings.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment according to strict protocols.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by applying aseptic techniques and monitoring compliance with procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate patient care and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Monitor patient status throughout the surgery and report any changes to the surgical team promptly.
  • Implement infection control and safety protocols to minimize patient risk and enhance outcomes.
  • Manage post-operative care instructions and ensure equipment is properly sterilized after each use.
  • Support team training and development by sharing skills and expertise with healthcare team members.
