ForeScout NAC L1 Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Access Control (NAC) Engineer with 2-4 years of experience in network security, including at least 1 year in managing NAC solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of NAC solutions within diverse network environments. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure network security compliance, policy enforcement, and optimal system performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in NAC technologies, as well as experience with multiple operating systems, security tools, and network protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain NAC solutions, including configuration, implementation, and ongoing administration.
• Integrate NAC solutions with various management and authentication tools (e.g., email, Active Directory (AD), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)).
• Automate network processes using scripting and configuration tools (e.g., SOAR) to improve efficiency.
• Monitor and manage network access policies and exceptions to ensure compliance and security.
• Use packet capture and network analysis tools to troubleshoot network issues and provide resolutions.
• Ensure network service continuity by implementing patches, conducting performance checks, and performing network audits.
• Collaborate with internal teams to handle incident monitoring, analysis, and response for network events and outages.
• Provide support for troubleshooting across all layers of the OSI model (Layer 1-7), identifying and resolving network and security issues.
• Deploy and enforce network security policies, access controls, and procedures for NAC systems.
• Perform routine backups of NAC device configurations and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Coordinate with OEMs for Technical Assistance Center (TAC) support, device replacements (RMA), and reconfiguration of NAC infrastructure.
• Oversee capacity management, configuration management, and change management of the NAC setup.
• Provide support for incident, problem, and service request management related to NAC systems.
• Collaborate with users and other stakeholders to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of trouble tickets.

Required Candidate Profile:

• Experience: 2-4 years in network security, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience in managing and implementing NAC solutions.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong understanding of NAC technologies and solutions.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
• Hands-on experience integrating NAC with management tools such as AD, IAM, and SIEM.
• Expertise in scripting and automating network processes with SOAR tools.
• Knowledge of network protocols, troubleshooting, and packet analysis.
• Experience in maintaining security policies and managing network access controls.
• Networking Knowledge:
• Familiarity with OSI model layers and ability to troubleshoot across Layers 1-7.
• Proficient with security patching, device performance monitoring, and compliance audits.
• Strong understanding of incident monitoring, analysis, and response techniques.
• Tools & Technologies:
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools, packet capture utilities, and other troubleshooting tools.
• Familiarity with network infrastructure management (incident management, change management, configuration, and capacity management).
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

• 24/7 support environment with occasional on-call responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.
