- This role is primarily responsible to manage all key aspects of the phytochemistry research and development operations, including operational efficiency, infrastructure, and personnel. To ensure efficient running of the division, and overseeing scientific deliverables

- Responsible for end-to-end phytochemistry operations to enhance quality of work and productivity.

- Develop, analyse, and improve new strategies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the phytochemical research.

- Identify the issues of concern, as well as possible solutions, especially regarding improvement of technical capability, morale, and productivity of the scientists.

- Review operating costs and ensure to manage as per budgets through resource optimization.

- Responsible for compliance to all the relevant quality systems

- Liaise with research and production teams for best processes to maximize biological activity from a R&D raw material or extract to pilot and commercial sale production.

- Setting standards for new botanical extracts, selection of best methods, validation

- Answering quality related queries from sales and other related depts. and from customers if required

- Be fully responsible for quality standard development and maintenance of all products of the company.

- Process improvement for cost reduction and easy technology transfer.

- To facilitate the smooth and effective flow of resources between departments like R&D, QA, and technology transfer.

- To lead various meetings and coordinate with global leaders

- Take an active role in recruitment of members into key positions across Development sub-functions.

- Ensure timely goal setting, monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to team members.

- Retention of high performers and identification of critical roles and succession plan; oversee capability building for the team; mentor and groom critical talent.

- Doctorate in phytochemistry and allied sciences

- Research experience in Ayurvedic/traditional medicines and poly herbal formulations.

- Having guided doctoral candidates and research students, /co-authored books/publications in peer reviewed journals will be an added advantage.

- A minimum of 20 years of overall experience in R&D, with at least 8 years in heading R&D operations. Experience in industrial research will be preferred.

- Leadership experience including the ability to set direction, manage and motivate people and work collaboratively with other teams
