Role : Senior ABAP Developer (Data Migration : 10+ YearsRole Summary :We are seeking an experienced Senior ABAP Developer with 10+ years of technical expertise, specializing in SAP data migration for ECC S/4HANA transformation projects. The candidate must have strong ABAP development skills, proven migration experience, and the ability to design and write custom RFCs for integration and data load scenarios.Key Responsibilities :1. Technical Leadership :- Lead the design and development of complex ABAP solutions, enhancements, and migration components.- Mentor junior developers and perform code reviews.- Own delivery of migration objects end-to-end (requirements , testing , cutover).2. Data Migration Expertise :- Build advanced migration tools using :1. Custom BAPI/RFC-based load programs2. Custom RFC function modules for data loads and integrations3. BDC, LSMW, and file-based migration utilities- Extensively work with S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM).- Define mapping documents, transformation logic, and data validation mechanisms.- Handle large-volume extraction, conversion, cleansing, and performance tuning.3. S/4HANA & Modern ABAP :- Develop high-performance solutions with :1. CDS Views, AMDP, HANA-optimized ABAP2. OData services & custom RFCs- Upgrade or redesign legacy code for S/4HANA compatibility.4. Integration & Interface Development :- Design and develop custom RFCs (Remote Function Calls) for :1. External system integrations2. Data load accelerators3. Automated validation and reconciliation- Build or enhance interfaces using IDoc, BAPI, RFC, ALE, OData, and Web Services.- Collaborate with integration teams (CPI, SLT, BODS).5. Collaboration & Delivery :- Work with functional teams (FI/SD/MM/PP/WM/EWM etc.) to finalize transformation logic.- Support SIT, UAT, mock loads, dress rehearsals, and cutover.- Prepare detailed technical specifications and migration runbooks.Required Skills & Experience :- 10- 15 years of deep ABAP development experience.- Strong ability to design, write, test, and optimize custom RFCs for data migration and integrations.- Minimum 3+ end-to-end migration cycles, including ECC , S/4HANA.- Expertise in :1. Classical & OO ABAP2. RFC, BAPI, BADIs, Enhancements3. BDC, LSMW, Direct Input4. ALV, Reports, Smartforms/Adobe Forms5. CDS Views, AMDP, OData services- Strong knowledge of core master data (Material, Customer, Vendor, GL, AR/AP, BOM, Routing, Inventory, etc.).Soft Skills :- Excellent communication and stakeholder handling.- Strong analytical and debugging capabilities.- Leadership in migration cutover planning and issue resolution.- Ability to work under tight deadlines.Good to Have :- SAP BTP ABAP or RAP/CAP experience.- SAP Activate methodology exposure.- ATC/Code Inspector/ABAP Unit test knowledge.- Familiarity with MDG and data governance processes.
