Role Overview
The Head of Corporate Affairs will lead government relations, policy advocacy & regulatory affairs to enhance clients position in the agritech ecosystem. This role requires strong engagement with policymakers, industry bodies, and key stakeholders to drive favorable policies, compliance, and strategic partnerships.
Key & Policy Advocacy:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with central & state government bodies, ministries (Agriculture, Commerce, MSME, etc.), and regulatory agencies.
- Represent client in government consultations, policy forums, and industry associations.
Regulatory & Compliance Leadership:
- Ensure compliance with agricultural laws, trade regulations, and food safety standards.
- Liaise & procure necessary licenses & permits like APMC, CCRA etc to ensure business continuity.
- Track policy changes affecting agri-trade, digital agriculture, and farmer engagement, providing proactive recommendations.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to navigate evolving agritech regulations.
Strategic Partnerships & Industry Engagement:
- Forge partnerships with APMCs, FPOs, cooperatives, NABARD, APEDA, ICAR, and industry alliances to strengthen clients presence.
- Engage with chambers of commerce (CII, FICCI, NASSCOM, etc.) to advocate for agritech-friendly policies.
- Drive collaboration with banks, financial institutions, and government-backed agri-schemes to support farmer financing and trade.
Crisis & Risk Management:
- Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies for policy or regulatory challenges.
- Act as a key advisor to the leadership team on reputation management, policy risks, and corporate social responsibility 10+ years of experience in corporate affairs, government relations, regulatory compliance, or policy advocacy, preferably in agritech, FMCG, food processing, or startups.
- Strong network in government ministries, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
- Proven track record of influencing policy changes, handling regulatory approvals, and managing public affairs.
- Experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and provide strategic counsel to senior leadership.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
- Fluency in Hindi & English (additional regional languages are a plus).
