We are looking to hire a Head of Physiotherapy at the Inspire Institute of Sport at Vijayanagara in Karnataka.


Responsibilities:


Leadership and Management:

  • Develop and implement a world-class strategy for the physiotherapy department that will align to the IIS mission of the home present and future Indian Olympic champions.
  • Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership to the IIS Physiotherapy Team.
  • Direct and manage work assignments for the IIS Physiotherapy Team.
  • Carry a specialist caseload and work with team members to assess, plan and implement appropriate rehabilitation programmes.


Treatment:

  • Plan, implement, evaluate, treat, and progress patient care to maximize rehabilitation potential efficiently and independently.
  • Establish and contribute to the delivery of high quality and effective physiotherapy provision to Junior and Senior athletes.
  • Facilitate timely rehabilitation for injured athletes, monitor recovery plans and return to sport outcomes consistent with evidence established protocols.


Administration:

  • Maintain comprehensive electronic medical records and, respecting individual athlete confidentiality, share appropriate levels of information with performance staff (utilising central database) in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate the collection of athlete specific information, including the monitoring and evaluation of injury and return to sport data longitudinally, monitor injury status and its impact on performance.
  • Ensure that all physiotherapy treatment records are maintained on the IIS Athlete Management System.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure seamless flow of communication.


Planning and Teamwork:

  • Facilitate a multi-disciplinary team approach to injury management and prevention.
  • Responsible for organizing and prioritizing own caseload and weekly calendar /rota preparation for all Physiotherapists.
  • Develop and monitor physiotherapy interventions in line with technical demands and specific skill requirements relevant to the varying disciplines within the sport.


Research, Innovation and Professional Development:

  • Establish and deliver innovative clinical pathways, clinical and applied research projects which facilitate athlete management, and establish IIS as a leader in the rehabilitation of elite athletes.
  • Appropriate for performance Physiotherapy, facilitate the development of sports specific profiling to benchmark individual athlete adaptation against identified and agreed performance outcomes.
  • Establish and drive professional development opportunities both formally and informally for the physiotherapy department.


Other:

Perform all such other services which may be required of him/her by the Advisory Board, or the Trust from time to time.


Criteria:

  • Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy Essential
  • Experience working in sport – minimum 7 Years Essential
  • Evidence of working with international level athletes Essential
  • Evidence of deep knowledge of athlete screening, injury profiling and injury management pathways within an elite athlete population Essential
  • Registration with recognized physiotherapy body Essential
  • Experience using a Data Management/ Athlete Management System for efficient and safe storage of information Highly Desirable
  • Working with a national team and/or multiple sports Desirable
  • Working in a recognized sports and/or high-performance institute environment within a multi-disciplinary team Desirable
  • Experience in leading a team of Sports Physiotherapists Desirable
  • Previously published research Desirable


Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
