Company Description

NonBioS is developing AI systems that aim to redefine software development processes. Our AI Engineers are currently being tested in select companies across the Bay Area, showing promising results in understanding system architectures and assisting with code generation and refactoring.


Importantly, we're taking a unique approach by deliberately anthropomorphising our AI systems. While many in the industry advise against this practice, our research indicates that imbuing AI with human-like traits in the interface leads to more intuitive interactions and potentially better outcomes. This approach requires careful design considerations to balance familiarity with the distinct capabilities of AI.


Role Description

As our Senior Front End Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating interfaces that facilitate effective human-AI collaboration in software development. This role involves designing new interaction paradigms that make AI capabilities accessible and intuitive for human developers.


Your work will contribute to shaping how software engineers interact with AI assistants. The interfaces you design will serve as the primary means of communication between human developers and AI systems, potentially influencing how the industry approaches AI integration in development workflows.


The main challenge is creating interfaces that accurately represent AI functionalities while making them intuitive for human users. This includes developing visual representations of AI decision-making processes and finding ways to communicate the strengths and limitations of AI systems clearly.


Ideal Candidate

We're not searching for the traditionally "proven" candidate. Instead, we're looking for individuals who:

  • Are ready to be misunderstood and are comfortable challenging established norms in UI/UX design
  • Have a track record of thinking differently, even if (and especially if) those ideas haven't always led to conventional success
  • Are energised by the prospect of repeated failure in pursuit of breakthrough innovations
  • Can envision and articulate a radically different future for human-AI interaction
  • Are willing to persist with unconventional ideas for extended periods, even in the face of scepticism


If you've consistently played it safe in your career, this role might not be for you. We need individuals who are prepared to push boundaries, question assumptions, and reimagine the entire paradigm of how humans and AI interact.


The ideal candidate is someone who sees failure not as a setback, but as a necessary step towards unprecedented breakthroughs. You should be excited by questions that don't have clear answers and problems that lack established solutions.

Compensation Package

We're offering a substantial Cash+Equity package to reflect the critical nature of this role:

  • Cash+Equity: Worth INR 40L - INR 85L (equity at our current valuation) per year, with substantial upside potential as we grow.
  • Vesting: 4-year vesting with a 1-year cliff.


Location

Hybrid role based out of Bay Area or Bangalore. Will require frequent travel to client locations in the Bay Area.
