About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer with expertise in backend API automation, Kafka event validation, and cloud-native testing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of microservices architecture, caching mechanisms, messaging systems, and distributed databases (Cassandra, Oracle). This role requires building robust automation frameworks, ensuring release quality, and collaborating closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks using Java, RestAssured, TestNG/Gradle.

- Validate event-driven systems with Kafka, including message publishing, consumption, and retention analysis.

- Perform backend validation across Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB, and caching layers (Redis, Memcache).

- Debug complex issues by analyzing Kubernetes pod logs and cloud infrastructure.

- Simulate and test real-world edge cases (e.g., cache misses, backend failures).

- Collaborate in CI/CD pipelines, validate builds, Git branch diffs, and ensure release readiness.

- Review developer pull requests to identify potential edge cases from a QA perspective.

- Contribute to performance testing strategies using JMeter and improve test reliability with retry logic.

- Work closely with DevOps, developers, and product owners to plan, prioritize, and expand automation coverage.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in backend automation testing.

- Strong programming skills in Java.

- Hands-on with RestAssured, TestNG, JUnit, Gradle.

- Deep understanding of Kafka internals (topics, partitions, events, retention).

- Expertise in Oracle, Cassandra, and basic knowledge of MongoDB.

- Experience with caching strategies, cache invalidation, TTL mechanisms.

- Proficiency in cloud-native tools : GCP Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, Cloud Functions.

- Hands-on with Kubernetes, including pod log analysis for RCA.

- Familiar with Postman, Swagger, JMeter, Git, Splunk.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with Selenium/Appium for UI testing.

- Ability to build automation frameworks from scratch.

- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins or GitLab CI.

- Experience working with e-commerce platforms or microservices-heavy architectures.

- Exposure to service virtualization and test data management.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to independently debug complex distributed systems.

- Effective collaboration in globally distributed teams.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
