Overview:

The Microsoft 365 and Proofpoint Email Security L2 Administrator is responsible for the administration, management, and support of Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) environments and the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Proofpoint email security solutions.

This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of Microsoft 365 applications and services while implementing robust email security measures to safeguard against threats.

Key Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 Administration:

- Administer and manage Microsoft 365 tenant settings, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other related services.

- Manage user accounts, licenses, permissions, and configurations within the Microsoft 365 environment.

- Monitor service health, performance, and security of Microsoft 365 applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.

Proofpoint Email Security Administration:

- Configure, manage, and monitor Proofpoint email security solutions, including email gateway, anti-spam, anti-phishing, and data loss prevention (DLP) features.

- Analyze email traffic, security logs, and threat intelligence to proactively identify and respond to email security threats and vulnerabilities.

- Maintain and update Proofpoint policies, rules, and filters to strengthen email security and prevent malicious attacks.

Email System Support:

- Provide L2 support for Microsoft 365 and Proofpoint-related incidents, service requests, and issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption.

- Collaborate with L1 support, end-users, and other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex email-related problems effectively.

Security and Compliance:

- Implement and enforce email security best practices, including email encryption, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and access controls within Microsoft 365.

- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies regarding email security, privacy, and retention.

Documentation and Training:

- Maintain documentation, procedures, and operational manuals for Microsoft 365 and Proofpoint configurations, setups, and processes.

- Provide training, guidance, and best practices to users and IT staff on utilizing Microsoft 365 features and adhering to email security protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- Proven experience in administering and supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services in an enterprise environment.

- Experience with configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Proofpoint or similar email security solutions.

- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and security features.

- Knowledge of email security protocols, anti-phishing techniques, and email encryption methods.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
