Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Engineering:
  • Lead the design, specification, and selection of static equipment, including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and reactors.
  • Perform thermal and mechanical design calculations for heat exchangers (e.g., shell & tube, plate, and air-cooled exchangers).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (such as ASME, API, TEMA) and local codes for pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
  • Work closely with process engineers to define equipment requirements based on process conditions.
  1. Project Execution:
  • Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for heat exchange and static equipment.
  • Review vendor documentation, perform technical bid evaluations, and ensure equipment is procured as per project requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support to procurement, fabrication, and construction teams during the project lifecycle.
  1. Analysis and Simulation:
  • Conduct stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and other mechanical calculations to ensure the integrity and safety of static equipment.
  • Analyze and evaluate equipment performance and suggest design improvements.
  • Perform fatigue analysis, corrosion allowance assessments, and material selection for static equipment.
  1. Inspection and Testing:
  • Oversee the inspection and testing of static equipment, including heat exchangers during fabrication, and ensure compliance with QA/QC standards.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors and ensure that equipment meets the necessary certification requirements.
  • Monitor equipment performance and assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise during operation.
  1. Documentation:
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including equipment drawings, design calculations, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure that all design modifications and as-built documentation are updated in line with company standards.
