Job Description:
We are looking for a data scientist who can help us leverage data to drive business growth and innovation. You will work with cross-functional teams to define and solve complex problems, using data, statistics, and machine learning. You will also communicate and present your findings and recommendations to stakeholders and decision-makers, using data visualization and storytelling.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Defining and understanding the business problem or opportunity and translating it into a data-driven question or hypothesis.
- Collecting, cleaning and processing data from various sources, such as databases, APIs, web scraping
- Exploring and analyzing the data, using descriptive and inferential statistics, to gain insights, identify trends and patterns.
- Building and testing predictive or prescriptive models, using machine learning, deep learning, or other methods, to solve specific business problems.
- Validating and evaluating the models, using appropriate metrics and techniques, to ensure optimal performance with accuracy and reliability.
- Deploying and monitoring the models, using cloud platforms, frameworks, or tools, to make them available for use.
- Communicating and presenting the results and recommendations, using data visualization, reports, dashboards, and storytelling, to stakeholders and decision-makers.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a data scientist or data analyst, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python (primary), R, or Scala
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and data manipulation techniques.
- Experience in Data sources and formats like SQL, NoSQL, CSV, JSON, XML, etc.
- Hands on Data analysis and visualization libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, or equivalent
- Experience in deep learning frameworks and libraries, such as scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras, pytorch, etc.
- Ability to apply various machine learning and statistical techniques, such as regression, classification, clustering, dimensional reduction, anomaly detection, natural language processing, computer vision, etc.
- Skill in data visualization and storytelling, using tools such as Tableau, Power BI or equivalent
- Comfort with cloud platforms and services, such as Google Cloud
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems with a collaborative and customer-oriented attitude.
