Role Overview: 

Join us as Mindful Math Expert at The Mindful Learning Space in Hyderabad. In this vital role, you will harness your passion and expertise in mathematics to craft and deliver courses, lessons, and learning activities for K-12 students. Your mission will be to ignite a love for math, engaging students across all levels – from primary to high school – with enthusiasm and creativity. Drawing upon the Mindful Math Program's innovative approach, you'll help students overcome math anxiety and perceive math as a fascinating and essential part of life. Your work will involve developing personalized learning experiences, focusing on metacognition, and fostering peer collaboration, all aimed at enhancing mathematical understanding and resilience. As the Mindful Math Expert, you'll play a key role in shaping a transformative journey for students, where math is not just a subject, but an integral, engaging part of their lives.


Courses to be taught include: foundational math for grades 3-8, Algebra1, Algebra2, Precalculus, High school geometry, probability and statistics, competitive math (IMO, AMC, Math counts etc), Calculus, IB and AP Math


Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Learning Design:

  • Develop and deliver a math curriculum that nurtures a love for math, combining theoretical principles with real-life applications.
  • Create comprehensive and creative learning tracks for Primary, Middle, and High school math.
  • Blend subject expertise, pedagogical experience, standardized curricula, and competitive math resources to create engaging lessons for new age learners.
  • Design exercises that challenge students to apply math concepts in real-world contexts and practice mindful learning.

Facilitation and Instruction:

  • Lead engaging, AI-assisted math sessions that make learning enjoyable and accessible.
  • Implement mindfulness exercises to enhance focus and reduce math anxiety.
  • Engage learners in mathematical thinking through Socratic discussions, reflection, and interactions.
  • Conduct personalized and small group sessions to address individual learning needs.

Mentorship, Guidance and Collaboration:

  • Act as a mentor, guiding students through mathematical concepts and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously enhance the learning experience and curriculum.
  • Conduct math clubs, contests, and workshops to create and nurture a growing community of enthusiastic young mathematicians.

Feedback & Assessment:

  • Develop and utilize robust assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of math teaching methods and content.
  • Continuously adapt teaching strategies based on student feedback and evolving educational trends.
  • Create effective practice worksheets, projects, and challenges to assess student learning.
  • Ensure assessments are differentiated and customized, using AI as needed, to instill rigor, nurture strengths, and address gaps at an individual level.


Qualifications:

  • A Masters degree in mathematics or related field is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise and passion for mathematical thinking and instruction.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience teaching math across different levels: primary, middle, and high school.
  • Has a knack for engaging students of all ages in math learning and is capable of teaching any K-12 math topic with appropriate resources. 
  • Passionate about teaching and learning, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and delivering interactive lessons in online, hybrid and physical classrooms.
  • Exhibits mindfulness in teaching and personal conduct.
  • Demonstrates strong mathematical concepts and a dedication to math education.
  • Embodies rigor and passion for math, inspiring students through personal commitment and enthusiasm.
  • Proficient with digital tools (MS Office, Zoom, interactive whiteboards, AI technologies).
  • Adaptable, innovative, and willing to embrace a startup culture.
  • Experience working with a diverse team and developing assessment tools, especially in math education.
