You're eager to invest in your own professional development and want to keep your technical toolkit up to date.Main Accountabilities- The main accountability areas for this position are:- Designs, sizes and builds a functional and technical system architecture based on business needs and drivers- Designs and sizes third-party integrations, being the technical point of contact- Leads delivery team, ensuring teamwork, commitment and controlling progress- Is responsible for the delivery, on each sprint and at the end of the release, of a viable and scalable solution- Is responsible for solution non-functional requirements (like solution performance, scalability, and security)- Guarantees the quality procedures- Supports feature delivery demos- Manages solution staging life-cycle, conducting QA and production deployments and supporting overall solution rollout procedures- Provide mentoring or guidance to the team.- Collaborate with team members to identify strengths and weaknesses of applications and improve upon them.- Defining and implementing design standards to promote a consistent and high quality user experience for our users.- Evaluating feedback from internal stakeholders and our customers, and advising how to satisfy requirements and Maximize the user experience.- Advising on and implementing development process automation for code builds, tests and deployments- Assist with work planning requirements and provide input on estimation of task effort.- Liaising with team mates to promote code quality and software design best practice.- Responding promptly and professionally to bug reports.- Balancing design principles and technology standards with product timelines and customer specific requirements.- Lead a team in the development, coding, and delivery of new software products and applications.- Perform product and customer research and develop improvement strategies based on findings.- Collaborate with team members to identify strengths and weaknesses of applications and improve upon them.- Evaluate functionality of products and remediate any lapse in functionality.Applying coding and Design conventions and standards- Promote a consistent and high quality experience for end users and service consumers- Development back end and front end modules consistent with agreed standards and best practicesCollaborating with colleagues during agile ceremonies and other team meetings- Participate in agile ceremonies, discussions, decision making, and planning sessions as required- Other project duties as and when requiredResponding promptly and professionally to bug reports and development issues- Respond promptly to issues escalated to development team.- Investigate and troubleshoot bugs and issues using problem-solving tools, such as Splunk, Sumo Logic and other development tools.- Implement timely bug fixes in java script or .Net platforms, as appropriate.Knowledge, skills and experience:- Minimum 7-8 years development experience.- Strong grasp of cloud software, SaaS or AWS- Strong understanding of all facets of front-end development, including providing high quality rich user experiences. Minimal guidance is expected to produce a professional front end.- Strong understanding and experience in server-side technologies and architectures, with the ability to implement and maintain these where necessary.- Technical languages and frameworks: .Net , AWS, JavaScript (SPA preferably in Angular), C#, REST api, MS SQL/ PostgreSQL.- Strong understanding and experience in database technologies. SQL is a must and NoSQL will be regarded highly.- Deep understanding of software scalability, performance and security.- Working experience in microservices will be regarded.- Experience implementing custom software implemented on a cloud hosted infrastructure, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)- Strong experience with DVCS, such as TFS and Git.- Strong experience with Windows OS. Unix/Linux a bonus.- Solid understanding and experience with agile development methodologies.- Solid understanding of continuous integration and deployment strategies. Ideally, you will have experience working in an environment with automated build, test and deployment processes. Experience implementing these automations will be regarded highly, specifically: Bamboo, Jenkins, Bower, GruntJS.- Experience with project management and documentation tools, such as: Jira, Confluence, Assembla.- Good command of English (written & spoken).
