Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with extensive experience in implementing advanced data engineering tools and frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in open-source technologies for on-premises such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and more. They will be capable of designing and transitioning current SQL data marts into modern data lake or data mesh frameworks. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing our data infrastructure to support applications development, reporting, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced data engineering solutions using open-source tools and frameworks for on-premises.
  • Transition existing SQL data marts into data lake or data mesh architectures to optimize data accessibility and analytics capabilities.
  • Implement and manage data streaming engines for real-time data processing and analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver comprehensive data solutions.
  • Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of data platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging data engineering tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Develop and enforce data governance and security policies.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on open-source technologies for on-premises.
  • Proficiency in data engineering tools and frameworks, including Apache Hadoop, Apache -Spark, Kafka, Flink, NiFi, Airflow, Hudi, Presto, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, dbt, GraphQL, Camel, Beam, Drill, Trino etc.,
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
