Manager- SCADA Design

This is a full-time role with our global engineering/EPC organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning, Design review, and Monitoring -

• Plan Engineering deliverables and prepare Master Drawing List (MDL), monitor Engineering progress of projects and take proactive actions to complete SCADA designs on or before of Schedule.

• Provide Value Engineering and Optimization ideas, Conduct workshops for implementation

• Bring/Knowledge in best practices in Design and Engineering aspects

• Review the SCADA scope conceptual, outline and detailed design

• Carry out design review of documents/ drawings

• Ensure compliance with the design with client requirements, applicable codes, and regulations.

• Interface with the other disciplines such as Signaling, Power supply Authority, Rolling stock, Power supply contractors, SCADA Vendors etc.

• Review of drawings and designs submitted by contractors and consultants.

• Review equipment vendor's drawings/documents. Candidate should also be able to guide the design team to review the equipment vendor's drawings.

Detail Engineering -

• Prepare design/drawings related to SCADA/SAS systems for RSS/AMS/TSS/ASS, OCC/BCC etc.

• RSS/TSS/AMS/ASS - Prepare SCADA network diagram, and bill of materials (BOMs).

• Significant experience in building complete SCADA Systems for conception to set up/

development/implementation/rollout of SCADA facilities at RSS, TSS, SP, SSP substations (RTUs,

Transducers, Transformer cards IEDs etc.).

• Candidate should have rich knowledge of RTUs/SAS Systems running on SPORT and IEC-60870-5-104 Protocol, monitoring/control centers (RCC/OCC) and Redundant Data communication setup.

• Knowledge of RSS/ASS/TSS Panel, interlocking, Interface with database of SCADA, Knowledge of IEC 60870-5-104 and IEC 61850, MODBUS, IEC-60870-5-101 protocols, Distribution Management System (DMS), Video Surveillance System (CCTV) & Access Control System (Intruder Detection System), Familiar with Control and Protection panel Circuit Diagram.

• Knowledge of NIST 800-82 standards, ICS Cybersecurity and Networking Infrastructure for SCADA

System. Candidate leads the specification and deployment of solutions within the SCADA business and continually refine best practice. Assists the bid team in their need to offer and provide cost efficient systems.

• Design of complete SCADA System and Substation Automation System (SAS).

• Design of SCADA/SAS detailed design, SCADA BOQ, IO Lists, SCADA/SAS Drawings, Interface Design documents.

• Provide technical support for SCADA Projects within the business.

• Provide technical support to the site execution and commissioning team as and when required.

• Review the Vendor's technical documents and BOQ.

Design Management and Technical Leadership

• Leading a mid-size team of design engineers/ draughts person and developing the team to take up challenging assignments

• Provide technical guidance to the site engineering team and coordinate with client

(Metro/PMC/Railway) for approval of design drawings.

• Develop operation and maintenance plans and standard operating procedures; prepare O&M

manuals and may conduct on-site training of personnel.

• Capable of leading a team and handling multiple projects/ multiple activities.

• Review the workload with individual engineer/ sub-team and manpower planning

Knowledge and exposure

• Should have sound knowledge of Indian Railway ACTM & RDSO Standard and latest development in RSDO/IR/Metro

• Experience working with RVNL/CORE/PGCIL/Metros/DFCCC/RRTS

Pre-Bid Design: -

• Study of tender documents and to prepare technical queries

• Working out optimized BOQs, comparison with client provided quantities and helping the BD team in putting the most competitive bid.

• Evaluation of Technical offers.

• Review of tender BOQ prepared by team, critically analyze, and provide guidance to the team

• Taking lead in any technical discussion with customer or Vendor.

• Preparing management report on engineered quantity and participate in tender discussion with management.

Key Competencies:

• Experience in detail design of SCADA system for AC/DC Traction Power System including Aux. Power.

• Experience in Detail design/ pre-bid engineering of SCADA/SAS, OCC/BCC. Candidate with experience in Metro OHE/Railways will be preferred

• Thorough understanding of different OCS systems like 25kV AC, 750/1500V DC, 33kV Aux. power etc.

• Experience in detail engineering of complete SCADA/SAS system for GIS substation/TSS/ASS will be preferred

• Knowledge of various standards like, IEC, EN, ISO, Indian standards etc.

• Knowledge of Protection Relays, BCPU/BCU, SCADA Integration/Testing & commissioning, CRP etc. of systems.

Desired qualification:

BE/B. Tech/ME/M. Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Experience required: 10-15 Years for B-Tech./ 8-12 years for M-Tech
