Job Description :
- 4+ years in software development
- 2+ years dedicated to Rust, demonstrating a strong command of Rust's capabilities and best practices.
- Write efficient and effective Rust code to address complex technical challenges, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
- Leverage business insight and analytical skills to extract valuable information from public datasets, integrating data-driven solutions into projects.
- Clearly articulate coding logic and rationale in online notebooks or other mediums, fostering transparency and understanding across teams.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation to facilitate future maintenance and knowledge sharing.
- Apply industry standards for code quality, formatting, and maintainability, with a focus on delivering robust, reliable solutions that align with software development best practices.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying, analyzing, and solving complex problems, continuously enhancing code functionality and project outcomes.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, utilizing generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to streamline coding tasks while maintaining awareness of their limitations and potential risks.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, code quality standards, and best practices, ensuring consistently high-quality deliverables.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders, researchers, and cross-functional teams to align project objectives and requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
Rust Development :
- Write efficient, high-quality Rust code to solve intricate technical issues and improve system performance.
- Implement and follow best practices for code quality, formatting, and software development within Rust projects.
- Apply business understanding and analytical skills to derive insights from public databases and integrate them effectively into project & Code Reasoning :
- Maintain detailed and comprehensive code documentation for each project to facilitate team understanding and future maintenance.
- Clearly express reasoning, logic, and thought processes when writing code in online notebooks, wikis, or other documentation mediums.
Adherence to Coding Standards :
- Ensure code adheres to industry standards, with a focus on quality and maintainability.
- Uphold coding best practices, maintain readability, and apply robust error-handling and security measures in all written code.
Problem Solving :
- Analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and optimize code to enhance functionality and efficiency.
- Work independently and collaboratively to resolve coding challenges, contributing to a proactive problem-solving culture.
Prompt Engineering & Generative AI Usage :
- Leverage tools like ChatGPT and other generative AI technologies to expedite coding tasks, while understanding the limitations, risks, and proper applications of these tools.
Stakeholder Communication :
- Communicate technical concepts, code logic, and project requirements clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including researchers and stakeholders, to align project goals and timelines.
