As our Sourcing Quality Engineer (SQE), you will manage supplier coordination and ensure that product quality meets Bradken’s standards and contractual obligations. Leveraging your experience as an SQE, you will perform capability assessments to verify supplier qualifications and conduct regular site-based audits to assess ongoing technical compliance
With a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, you'll focus on identifying and qualifying new suppliers, auditing compliance, and monitoring supplier performance according to the audit schedule.
You will coordinate with suppliers, assist with technical queries, and tackle casting defects through thorough root-cause analysis to understand and resolve issues effectively.
Utilizing your excellent communication skills, you will serve as the liaison between suppliers, 3rd Party Inspectors, and Bradken Product Development, offering support for internal and external technical queries. Additionally, you will use various systems to interact with third-party suppliers, handling document transmittals, quotation forms, and quotation registers.
With your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence, you will conduct product first-article inspections and prepare comprehensive inspection reports. Submitting these reports for review and approval will ensure top-tier outcomes at every project stage.
Technical Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Material Science/Metallurgy) or a related field, along with relevant experience.
- Experience in managing suppliers and subcontractors within a heavy manufacturing setting.
- Understanding of foundry or heavy industrial manufacturing processes.
- Skilled problem-solvers who apply advanced analytical abilities and keen attention to detail to develop innovative solutions for quality-related challenges.
