Job Title: Automation Test Engineer


Key Responsibilities:


1.Test Strategy Development:

•Analyze requirements, design, and create comprehensive test plans and strategies for automation.

•Collaborate with development teams to identify testable features and define automation scope.

2.Automation Script Development:

•Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, etc.

•Write clean, modular, and reusable code for automated tests.

•Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

3.Test Execution & Reporting:

•Execute automated test cases, track results, and report defects to the development team.

•Work closely with developers to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.

•Analyze test results to ensure high-quality software releases.

4.Framework Development:

•Design and develop automation testing frameworks that support a wide range of testing activities (functional, regression, integration, performance).

•Continuously optimize and improve automation testing frameworks for better efficiency and performance.

5.Collaboration & Communication:

•Work closely with QA engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to understand application functionality and automation needs.

•Communicate test progress, issues, and results in a clear and detailed manner.

6.Test Environment Management:

•Set up, configure, and maintain test environments for automated testing.

•Ensure all automation environments are up-to-date and meet the requirements for testing activities.

7.Test Coverage & Quality Improvement:

•Ensure high test coverage for critical features and scenarios, aiming to achieve maximum efficiency in the testing process.

•Identify areas of improvement in testing processes and propose solutions to enhance overall testing quality.


Skills & Qualifications:


•Technical Skills:

•Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

•Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or QTP/UFT.

•Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration with testing tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker).

•Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

•Knowledge of SQL and database testing.

•Testing Knowledge:

•Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

•Experience in functional, regression, and integration testing.

•Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

•Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze test failures to determine the root cause.

•Attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems.

•Soft Skills:

•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

•Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


Educational Qualifications:


•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

•Certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent are a plus.


Experience:


•Typically requires 2+ years of experience in automation testing, though entry-level and junior positions are also available.
