Engineering Manager

Location: Hyderabad, IndiaDepartment: Data, AI & OperationsReporting to: Head of Engineering – Data, AI & OperationsRole OverviewThe Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing engineering team supporting Newmark’s enterprise Data, AI, and Operations products. The role drives the end-to-end delivery of scalable software platforms, including property-centric data mastering, AI-powered document intelligence, workflow automation, and enterprise integration solutions. The EM ensures technical excellence, predictable delivery, strong stakeholder alignment, and adherence to engineering and governance standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Delivery• Lead full-stack development projects using React for UI and .NET or Java for backend microservices with cloud-native deployment patterns.• Oversee AI initiatives leveraging agentic AI workflows, RAG pipelines, and Microsoft Copilot Studio where applicable.• Drive solution design, prioritization, sprint planning, and delivery execution to meet OKRs and business milestones.• Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable with optimized performance across global usage.People Management & Team Growth• Attract, hire, and grow top engineering talent in India with an emphasis on AI-first, product-focused delivery.• Provide coaching, structured performance feedback, and career progression planning for engineers.• Instill engineering best practices including code quality, documentation, observability, and DevSecOps automation.Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration• Partner with PMs, architects, Tech Leads, and US-based stakeholders to align on business priorities and delivery commitments.• Manage communication across distributed teams, maintaining transparency and effective issue resolution.• Enable rapid iteration through MVP and continuous improvement methodologies while balancing scope, risk, and timeline.Governance & Operational Excellence• Ensure all systems follow Newmark governance, security, and regulatory standards.• Maintain operational SLAs, improve incident response readiness, and conduct root cause analyses.• Monitor engineering metrics for throughput, product adoption, cost efficiency, and AI-assisted productivity gains.Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management.• Proven success leading enterprise data-centric platforms, architecture modernization, or AI-driven application delivery.• Strong technical expertise in .NET or Java backend systems, modern web stacks, microservices, and cloud (Azure/AWS).• Experience integrating structured and unstructured data workflows, including API-based and ML-augmented pipelines.• Demonstrated experience leading distributed engineering teams within a global model.Preferred Experience• Commercial Real Estate (CRE), financial services, or similar data-intensive domain exposure.• Experience scaling human-in-the-loop workflows and AI-assisted developer productivity tools.• Knowledge of analytical applications, data acquisition, and lineage patterns.Core Competencies• Strategic thinking with operational rigor• Effective communication across technical and business domains• Ownership mindset with customer-first focus• Strong judgment in rapidly evolving environments• Ability to enforce standards while accelerating outputWhy Join Newmark Data, AI & OperationsThis role shapes the evolution of Newmark’s global digital ecosystem, driving foundational Data and AI platforms that support the entire CRE lifecycle.
