Job Title: Manager – Patent Drafting & ProsecutionLocation: BangaloreEmployment Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Manager – Patent Drafting & Prosecution with 5–8 years of prior experience at a law firm or IP service company. The candidate should have a strong technical background (preferably in Computer Science/IT) and proven expertise in drafting patent applications and preparing office action responses across major jurisdictions, including the US, Europe, and India. He/she should be a registered patent agent. The role also requires managing and mentoring a small team of patent professionals while ensuring the highest standards of quality and client service.Key Responsibilities- Patent Drafting & Prosecution - Independently draft high-quality patent applications in US, EP, and India. - Prepare and review responses to office actions from the USPTO, EPO, and Indian Patent Office. - Ensure all work meets jurisdiction-specific legal and technical requirements. - Project & Team Management - Manage and guide a team of 3–4 Sr. Associates/Associates on drafting and prosecution assignments. - Review drafts prepared by team members, providing detailed feedback to improve quality. - Oversee project timelines, workload distribution, and delivery commitments. - Client Engagement - Collaborate with inventors, in-house counsel, and R&D teams to capture technical inventions. - Provide strategic advice on patentability, prosecution, and portfolio development. - Maintain strong client communication and ensure client satisfaction. - Quality & Process Development - Establish and implement best practices for patent drafting and prosecution. - Provide training and mentorship to team members for professional growth. - Continuously improve processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.Qualifications & Skills- Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering (preferred). - Law degree (desirable). - Patent agent qualification (must) - Experience: - 5–8 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution with a law firm or IP services company. - Hands-on experience in drafting patent applications and preparing responses to office actions for US, EP, and India. - Prior experience in managing patent professionals or leading projects. - Skills & Competencies: - Strong understanding of patent laws and prosecution practices across US, EP, and India. - Excellent technical and legal drafting skills with attention to detail. - Ability to manage, mentor, and review work of junior team members. - Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. - Client-facing experience with global stakeholders.What We Offer- Leadership role in a growing patent drafting & prosecution practice. - Opportunity to work with global clients across diverse technology domains. - Professional growth through challenging assignments and team leadership. - Competitive compensation and a collaborative work environment.
