Immediate joiners preferred Share your cvs at medhyas@sutantrasystems.com Job Summary Dedicated SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in managing, maintaining, and optimizing relational database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database installation, configuration, backup, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability and security of production databases. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and upgrade SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) in production and non-production environments. Perform database administration activities such as backup, restore, patching, and maintenance. Ensure database high availability, failover, and replication as per business continuity requirements. Monitor database health, performance, and capacity, and perform tuning to optimize performance. Manage user access, roles, and privileges to maintain database security and compliance. Perform regular health checks, index management, and log maintenance. Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, locks, and performance issues. Implement and monitor backup and recovery policies to ensure data protection. Maintain disaster recovery (DR) and replication setups and perform failover testing. Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on schema design, releases, and performance improvements. Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and change management. --- Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA). Strong proficiency in SQL Server / MySQL / PostgreSQL (any one or multiple). Experience in backup and recovery tools, replication setup, and clustering. Sound understanding of database architecture, indexes, and storage management. Hands-on experience in query tuning, performance optimization, and resource monitoring. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, pgAdmin, SQL Profiler, SolarWinds, or equivalent). Knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) planning and high availability (HA) configurations. Understanding of OS-level database tuning (Linux/Windows).
