Job Description: Senior HL7 Mirth Connect Engineer with TCP/IP and SDC Protocol (IEEE Standard) Interoperability.


Note: HL7 and SDC Protocol (IEEE Standard) are mandatory.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions using Mirth Connect to facilitate the exchange of HL7 messages via TCP/IP protocols.
  • Develop and maintain SDC templates compliant with IEEE standards to standardize data capture processes.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security during the transformation and transmission of HL7 messages over TCP/IP.


  • System Integration:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for complex system integration projects.
  • Configure and optimize Mirth Connect channels for effective data routing, filtering, and transformation using TCP/IP protocols.
  • Implement and support interfaces that enable interoperability between EHRs, LIS, RIS, and other healthcare applications, ensuring compliance with IEEE standards.


  • Testing and Validation:
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of integration solutions to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Perform unit, integration, and regression testing to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and scripts for validation of HL7 message exchanges over TCP/IP.


  • Troubleshooting and Support:
  • Monitor integration processes and proactively troubleshoot issues related to data exchange, TCP/IP communication, and system interoperability.
  • Provide advanced technical support and resolution for issues related to HL7 message handling, SDC implementations, and IEEE protocol compliance.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of integration solutions, including configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting guides.


  • Collaboration and Training:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and clinical staff, to ensure successful implementation of complex interoperability solutions.
  • Mentor and provide advanced training to internal teams and end-users on the use of Mirth Connect, TCP/IP protocols, SDC tools, and IEEE standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in healthcare interoperability, TCP/IP protocols, and IEEE standards.


Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.


  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in healthcare interoperability, specifically with HL7 standards and Mirth Connect.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using TCP/IP protocols.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with SDC protocols and IEEE standards.
  • Familiarity with other healthcare standards and protocols (e.g., FHIR, CDA, DICOM) is a plus.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Mirth Connect, including channel development, message transformation, and scripting (JavaScript, SQL).
  • Strong understanding of HL7 messaging standards (v2.x, v3.x) and related data formats.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP protocols and network communication.
  • Knowledge of IEEE standards related to healthcare data capture and exchange.
  • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data integration tools.
  • Proficiency in web services (REST, SOAP) and API integrations.


Additional Requirements

  • Certification in HL7 standards, Mirth Connect, TCP/IP protocols, or IEEE standards is preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare information systems (EHR, LIS, RIS) and knowledge of healthcare workflows is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadline
