JOB SUMMARY

The Project planner will be responsible for establishing baseline project schedules, developing integrated plans, coordinating the changes, schedule risks and overall planning for a major project in India. The Role will engage with capital delivery, indirect procurement, process engineering, direct procurement, product engg. supplier quality, engg. Quality, operations teams and functional departments including finance, HR and IT to ensure seamless schedule integration. This position plays a critical role in supporting executive decision-making by providing real-time progress updates and risk analysis to the PMO leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare baseline integrated project schedules with clear dependencies of all work-streams using Primavera P6 software.
  • Monitor project progress, updates schedule as needed and communicate with stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Play crucial role in optimizing project efficiency, resource allocation, and overall project success within the PMO framework.
  • Generate weekly distributed planning data from various resources loaded-schedules in Primavera P6 software, based on costs, resources or labor units.
  • Prepare Planned Value data and develop periodical project performance reports to Head - PMO.
  • Ensure accurate and timely schedule related reporting to various stakeholders
  • Develop Project planning packages, which include project execution plan, S-curves, resources histograms and risk register
  • Manage multiple planning and scheduling professionals of various consultants and contractors working on the project for timely data integration.
  • Support PMO team for change management inputs
  • Evaluate impact of changes on time schedule and provide recommendations for necessary mitigations.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and PMO team members to define project timelines and milestones.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect changes or delays.
  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Communicate schedule updates and changes to stakeholders and team members.
  • Ensure that project schedules align with overall project goals and objectives.
  • Analyze resource allocation and recommend adjustments to optimize efficiency.
  • Prepare regular reports on project status, timelines, and potential risks.
  • Analyze project schedule impacts and prepare trend reports.
  • Provide General office and logistical support to PMO teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Desired:

  • Project Management Professional Certification is desirable.
  • Use of AI, analytics, and real-time dashboards in project controls. (Eg Leverage advanced analytics, AI-driven forecasting tools, and real-time dashboards to enhance project performance tracking and optimise decision-making in cost, schedule, and risk management.)

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of proven experience in project scheduling function and cost planning of major EPC or Turnkey contracts
  • Experience in managing scheduling professionals for large and complex projects
  • Experience in detailed project schedule development, integrated planning, progress measurement and management reporting
  • Expertise in updating progress in Primavera software on weekly and monthly basis
  • Hands-on experience in developing Project S-curves and Histograms.
  • Analysis of project schedules received from various teams and provide reports to Project Management Office.
  • monitoring and reviewing Earned Value analysis and financial reporting systems, in the field and the home office.

Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

Proficiency in scheduling software Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Expertise in MS Excel and MS office tools.
