Position Overview:

The Dean of the School of Law will provide strategic leadership and vision, driving the law school towards continued excellence and innovation. The Dean will oversee all aspects of academic and administrative operations, working closely with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders to achieve our mission and goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a visionary strategic plan for the law school’s future.
  • Champion academic excellence and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the school’s national and international reputation.
  • Academic Excellence:
  • Oversee the development and delivery of cutting-edge academic programs and curricula.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and uphold the highest educational standards.
  • Support and advance faculty scholarship, teaching, and professional development.
  • Student Success:
  • Enhance recruitment, retention, and success of a diverse student body.
  • Promote a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters student growth and professional development.
  • Strengthen student engagement through robust extracurricular and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Faculty and Staff Development:
  • Inspire and support faculty and staff, fostering a collaborative and collegial work environment.
  • Promote continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Lead efforts to recruit and retain outstanding faculty and staff.
  • Resource Management:
  • Oversee the law school’s budget and ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Drive fundraising efforts and secure external funding through grants, donations, and partnerships.
  • Optimize resource utilization to support strategic priorities.
  • Community and Alumni Engagement:
  • Strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, and the legal community.
  • Represent the law school in public forums and professional associations.
  • Promote the school’s achievements and contributions to the legal field.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
  • An advanced degree (e.g., LLM, SJD, PhD) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience:
  • A distinguished record of academic, professional, and scholarly achievements in law.
  • Proven leadership and administrative experience in higher education, preferably in a law school.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising and resource development.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strategic thinking and visionary planning skills.
  • Proven ability to inspire and drive academic and operational excellence.
