Position Title : Machine Learning Engineer (Level 1 & Level 2)Location : Bangalore the Company : A fast-growing Y Combinator-backed Insurtech startup focused on revolutionizing the insurance underwriting process through state-of-the-art Generative AI, NLP, Computer Vision, and LLM solutions. The SaaS products enable US insurance companies to make smarter, faster decisions, optimize underwriting, reduce risks, and appropriately price premiums.Position Summary : We are looking for passionate Machine Learning Engineers at two levels - MLE-1 and MLE-2 - to join our dynamic Bangalore team and contribute to building and scaling AI-driven solutions. This role involves hands-on model development, experimentation, deployment, and optimization, working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams. You will have the opportunity to build scalable ML pipelines, fine-tune cutting-edge LLMs, and design NLP and computer vision applications tailored to real business challenges.Key Responsibilities : - Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to design and realize AI product features.- Train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy ML and LLM models effectively.- Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines for experimentation, model management, and deployment.- Optimize model performance including GPU utilization, parallel training, and other scaling methods.- Develop and enhance LLMOps and MLOps infrastructure incorporating Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud services.- Implement APIs for scalable model inference with robust monitoring and testing strategies.- Apply best practices in DevOps, including container orchestration, continuous integration, and deployment.- Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute innovative ideas and research into production-level solutions.- Specifically tailor LLM solutions for insurance underwriting and related use cases.Technical Skills & Tools : - LLM & ML Frameworks : Hugging Face OSS LLMs, GPT, Gemini, Claude, Mixtral, Llama.- LLMOps Platforms : MLFlow, LangChain, LangGraph, LangFlow, Langfuse, LlamaIndex, SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, Azure AI.- Databases : MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Pinecone, ChromDB.- Cloud Platforms : AWS, Azure.- DevOps & Orchestration : Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD pipelines.- Programming Languages : Proficiency in Python, SQL, and JavaScript.- Preferred Certifications (Optional) : AWS Professional Solutions Architect, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, Azure Solutions Architect Expert.Experience & Qualifications : - Machine Learning Engineers, Level 1 : 12 years of experience in ML, software engineering, or data science roles (internships count). Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field required.- Machine Learning Engineers, Level 2 : Minimum 3 years of professional industry experience. Masters degree preferred or equivalent experience in ML or software engineering.
