Position Overview:

The SCM Head will oversee all aspects of supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, vendor management, and inventory control, specifically tailored to solar project needs. The role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of solar project requirements and a commitment to driving cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management:

- Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for critical solar materials such as panels, inverters, cables, mounting structures, and transformers.

- Negotiations: Negotiate terms to ensure cost competitiveness, timely deliveries, and quality assurance.

- Vendor Relationships: Foster long-term partnerships with key suppliers to ensure consistent availability and reliability.

- Contract Management: Draft, review, and enforce procurement contracts with clear terms and KPIs for vendors.

- Global Sourcing: Explore and establish relationships with international suppliers to diversify procurement channels.

End-to-End Logistics Management:

- Transport Coordination: Design and manage logistics plans, including shipping schedules, transport modes, and route optimization.

- Customs and Compliance: Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and customs clearance for international procurement.

- Warehouse Operations: Oversee material storage and handling at warehouses to ensure safety and accessibility.

- On-site Delivery: Ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to project sites with zero disruptions.

Inventory Management & Planning:

- Stock Optimization: Develop strategies to balance inventory levels, reduce holding costs, and maintain sufficient stock for project demands.

- Forecasting: Use data analytics to predict material requirements based on project pipelines and schedules.

- Lifecycle Management: Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and implement plans for resale or disposal to reduce waste.

- Tracking Systems: Implement advanced inventory management systems to monitor stock in real time.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

- Material Standards: Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure all procured materials meet project specifications.

- Inspection Protocols: Establish processes for inspecting shipments upon arrival to minimize defective or subpar materials.

- Certification Compliance: Ensure all procured materials comply with relevantindustry certifications and standards.

Cost Efficiency & Budget Management:

- Budget Oversight: Work closely with the finance team to manage procurement and logistics budgets.

- Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities to lower costs without compromising quality or timelines.

- Supplier Analysis: Conduct regular assessments of supplier performance and pricing models.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Team Building: Recruit, train, and mentor a skilled SCM team to support business objectives.

- Performance Management: Set measurable goals and track performance to foster accountability and growth.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between the SCM team, project managers, and engineering teams to align supply chain activities with project milestones.

Risk Mitigation & Crisis Management:

- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in procurement and logistics, including supply disruptions or price volatility.

- Contingency Plans: Develop strategies to manage unforeseen challenges such as delays, shortages, or quality issues.

- Crisis Handling: Lead the response to emergencies, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

- Performance Metrics: Develop and report on key supply chain KPIs, such as cost savings, delivery accuracy, and inventory turnover.

- Process Optimization: Use data insights to identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

- Technology Integration: Evaluate and deploy supply chain software to streamline operations and enhance transparency.

Qualifications: Engineering degree + MBA in SCM is added advantage
