Principal / Senior Backend Engineer

Location : Hyderabad / Pune (Onsite)

Employment Type : Full-time, Long-term

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Principal / Senior Backend Engineer to join our core product engineering team. You will work on designing, implementing, and optimizing a next-generation Graph Query Language (GQL)enhancing compiler features and improving large-scale, low-latency graph analytics.

Key Responsibilities :

- Understand and implement complex design specifications and architectural guidelines.

- Follow best practices for core product development, ensuring high performance and reliability.

- Design, implement, and optimize Graph Query Language features, focusing on:

- Compiler and parser enhancements

- Execution performance for large-scale, low-latency graph analytics

- Work on query optimization and execution planning.

- Conduct performance profiling and tuning for system-level code.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Golang minimum 4 years (Mandatory)

- Java and/or C++ - 3- 4 years

- Strong experience in product development.

- Hands-on experience with compiler or parser development (e.g., ANTLR), including :

1. Parsing and semantic checks

2. Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) transformations

3. Query planning and code generation

- Deep understanding of query optimization and execution planning.

- Expertise in performance profiling and optimization of system-level code.

- Familiarity with build systems: CMake, Gradle/Maven.

- Experience using testing frameworks for backend systems.

Nice to Have :

- Background in distributed databases and execution engine internals.

- Knowledge of concurrency control and distributed systems protocols (e.g., Raft, Two-Phase Commit).

- Familiarity with graph query languages like GSQL or Cypher QL.

Key Competencies :

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to design and implement complex backend systems with a focus on scalability and performance.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a product engineering environment.
