Infant Wear Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Designer specializing in Infant Wear to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of children’s apparel, with a focus on creating comfortable, stylish, and age-appropriate designs for infants. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the kids wear category and a proven ability to understand market trends, customer preferences, and the nuances of infant clothing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop infant wear collections, including rompers, bodysuits, sleepwear, and daywear, ensuring a balance of style, comfort, and functionality.
• Conduct research on current trends in infant fashion, colors, prints, and fabrics, translating these into appealing designs that align with our brand vision.
• Collaborate closely with the product development, sourcing, and production teams to ensure designs are executed to meet high-quality standards.
• Select appropriate materials that are soft, safe, and suitable for infants, prioritizing comfort and ease of wear.
• Create tech packs with detailed specifications, fabric choices, and fit standards for accurate sampling and production.
• Maintain awareness of international safety regulations and standards for infant wear to ensure compliance in all designs.
• Develop and present seasonal mood boards, color palettes, and style guides that resonate with an international and premium market.
• Provide input on fit and sizing standards to ensure consistency across infant clothing items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in the kids wear category, with a portfolio showcasing infant and children’s wear designs.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, especially those suited for sensitive infant skin, such as organic cotton.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of current market trends in the kids wear and infant fashion categories.
