Job Title:Microsoft Purview Specialist Experience:12+ years Location:Remote Employment Type:ContractRole Overview: We are looking for an experiencedMicrosoft Purview Specialistwith deep expertise in data governance, compliance, and information protection. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage Microsoft Purview solutions to ensure data security, compliance, and effective information lifecycle management across the organization.Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation and administration ofMicrosoft Purview (formerly Azure Purview)for enterprise-wide data governance and compliance. Develop and managedata classification, cataloging, lineage, and sensitivity labelsusing Purview tools. Manage, Train and Lead the team members. ConfigureData Loss Prevention (DLP) ,Information Protection , andData Lifecycle Managementpolicies. Collaborate with security, compliance, and IT teams to align Purview governance models with business requirements. Integrate Purview withMicrosoft 365 Compliance Center ,Azure Information Protection , andMicrosoft Defender for Cloud . Design and maintaindata inventory ,data scanning , andpolicy-based controlsfor structured and unstructured data sources (on-prem, cloud, hybrid). Conductperiodic audits and risk assessmentsto ensure adherence to data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.). Create detaileddocumentation ,dashboards , andreportson data governance performance and compliance posture. Stay current with Microsoft’s evolving Purview and M365 compliance suite capabilities and recommend continuous improvements.Required Skills & Experience: 12+ yearsof total IT experience withminimum 5+ years in Microsoft Purview / M365 Compliance / Information Protection . Strong hands-on experience in: Microsoft Purview Data Map, Data Catalog, and Data Insights Sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, and eDiscovery policies Data classification and governance frameworks Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center Good understanding ofdata privacy laws and regulatory frameworks(GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001, SOC2). Experience withAzure AD ,Defender for Cloud Apps , and integration withPower BIorAzure Synapseis a plus. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
