Position : Engineering Manager - PlatformExperience : 8-13 YearsLocation : Bangalore, IndiaJob Summary :We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Engineering Manager - Platform to lead our Platforms Team. The ideal candidate will have 8-13 years of experience and a strong background in managing the full lifecycle of platform solutions for large-scale distributed systems. You will be responsible for defining the team's roadmap, ensuring the 24/7/365 reliability and performance of our services, and mentoring a high-performance engineering team. This role is crucial for maintaining and scaling the production systems that power all our user-facing services.Key Responsibilities :Platform Strategy & Execution :- Lead the Platforms Team roadmap from conceptualization to delivery for current and next-generation tools and technologies.- Manage release planning, execution, and deployment to ensure production and non-production environments run smoothly without performance or reliability issues.- Provide technology thought leadership and influence new designs, architectures, and standards for large-scale distributed systems.System Reliability & Automation :- Work with the team to design, build, and deliver software that ensures the reliability, availability, and performance of all services.- Automate processes to stabilize production environments and prevent problem recurrence, acting as an advocate for automation principles and best practices.- Engage in service capacity planning and forecasting, as well as software performance analysis and system tuning.Team Leadership & Mentorship :- Build and mentor a high-performance engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.- Practice and promote processes like blameless postmortems and proactive identification of potential outages to drive iterative improvement.Required Skills :Technical Expertise :- 8-13 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.- Strong experience and understanding of Agile development concepts and Cloud environments, ideally with a development background.- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services and Containers.Problem-Solving & Leadership :- Proven ability to systematically approach problem-solving with a strong sense of accountability.- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Skills :- Strong knowledge of Linux, Networking, and Cloud administration.- Proven experience with microservices architecture.- A holistic view of how systems relate to each other.- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
