Job Title:Anchor Location:Chandigarh University, Unnao UP Department:Media and Communication Reports To:Event Manager / Media HeadJob Summary: The Anchor will play a crucial role in hosting, presenting, and facilitating various events, shows, and functions at Chandigarh University. This position involves leading the flow of events with enthusiasm, maintaining audience engagement, and ensuring the smooth execution of activities. The anchor will represent the university's brand and ensure that events are professional, informative, and entertaining.Key Responsibilities: Event Hosting and Presenting: Serve as the official host for university events, conferences, workshops, seminars, cultural functions, sports events, and other programs. Deliver live commentary and engage with the audience to create a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Introduce speakers, dignitaries, and guests, ensuring a smooth transition between different segments of the event. Conduct interviews, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions when required. Audience Engagement: Engage with the audience through interactive elements, ice-breakers, and informative segments. Maintain an energetic, friendly, and professional demeanor to ensure the audience is continuously engaged. Ensure all event timings are adhered to and manage transitions between segments. Content Preparation: Work closely with the event team to understand the theme, objectives, and content of the event. Prepare scripts, speeches, and presentations in alignment with the event's tone and message. Research relevant topics and information to provide accurate and engaging content. Coordination with Organizers and Teams: Collaborate with event coordinators, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the flow of the event. Brand Representation: Represent the university in a positive, professional, and articulate manner during public interactions. Ensure that the university’s vision, values, and messages are consistently communicated during all events. Social Media and Digital Engagement: Assist in promoting events through social media platforms and university channels. Record short video snippets, interviews, or highlights from the event for promotional use.Required Skills and Qualifications:Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an anchor, host, or presenter in a professional setting, such as television, radio, live events, or media. Prior experience in hosting educational or corporate events is preferred.Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi/Punjabi is a plus). Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Confident, dynamic, and energetic personality. Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected situations during live events. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with media production and event management tools is a plus.Additional Qualities: Creative, flexible, and adaptable in approach. Strong team player and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Proactive in managing tasks and responsibilities.
