Role Overview:

As a Senior Staff Engineer on the Developer Experience(DevEx) team, you will play a crucial role in architecting and enhancing the toolsets that facilitate rapid feature deployment. You will collaborate closely with software engineers and architects to ensure that our developers have the resources they need to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Build and Deployment Pipeline Management: Design, develop, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and CircleCI, including writing custom build configurations for unique steps and deployment workflows. Ensure seamless automation and integration across development processes.
  • Infrastructure Automation and Code Deployment: Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, supporting infrastructure setup and configuration in cloud environments like AWS and Azure. Use Flux or ArgoCD for GitOps-based code deployment and automation.
  • Product Infrastructure and Developer Tooling: Set up and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure for product environments and developer tooling, optimizing for scalability and resilience.
  • Monitoring and Observability: Establish monitoring and alerting frameworks for product infrastructure, leveraging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and other monitoring stacks to ensure operational stability and quick issue resolution.
  • Developer Experience: Build and support developer tooling and platforms, creating self-service tooling solutions that streamline the developer workflow and foster increased productivity.
  • Code Quality and Security: Collaborate with engineering teams to maintain high code quality, implementing security best practices across infrastructure and ensuring alignment with company security standards.


Qualifications

  • Hands-on Experience with CI/CD Tools: Proficient in configuring GitHub and CircleCI, with demonstrated expertise in creating and managing complex build pipelines and custom build configurations.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code Proficiency: Strong background in Terraform for managing IaC, along with a solid understanding of Flux or ArgoCD for GitOps-based deployments.
  • Cloud and Containerization Expertise: Deep understanding of AWS and/or Azure infrastructure, including hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments for running product and developer tooling infrastructure.
  • Programming and Scripting Knowledge: Proficiency in Python and shell scripting, with experience in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Go, Java) to support backend and infrastructure automation tasks.
  • Developer Tooling and Platform Management: Proven experience in building and managing developer tools and platforms, with a focus on enabling self-service solutions.
  • Monitoring and Observability Skills: Knowledgeable in setting up monitoring and observability solutions for infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, and similar tools.
