Backup Engineer (Veeam & Rubrik)Location: Bangalore Mode: Hybrid Shift : Rotational ShiftKey Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintainVeeam and Rubrik backup solutions for physical, virtual, and cloud environments. Manage and monitorbackup, replication, and recoveryoperations across VMware, Hyper-V, and hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Troubleshoot backup failures, replication issues, and performance bottlenecks to ensure minimal data loss and downtime. Develop and implementdisaster recovery (DR) plans , backup retention policies, and recovery strategies to meetRPO (Recovery Point Objectives) and RTO (Recovery Time Objectives) . Optimize storage utilization and maintainbackup repositories, NAS, SAN, and object storageconfigurations. Ensure backup security, compliance, and ransomware protection using encryption, immutability, and access control measures. Perform periodicbackup testing, verification, and documentationof recovery processes. Collaborate withIT, security, and cloud teamsto integrate backup solutions with infrastructure monitoring tools. Providetechnical support and trainingto IT teams on best practices for backup and disaster recovery. File, database, and VM restores. Backup status reports. Add/modify/delete server under backup. Add/modify/delete backup policy.Required Qualifications: Technical Skills: Expertise inVeeam Backup & ReplicationandRubrikbackup platforms. Strong knowledge ofVMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and physical server backups . Experience withcloud backup and replication (Azure Backup, AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage) . Proficiency inWindows Server and Linux environments . Understanding ofnetworking, firewall rules, and security best practicesrelated to backups. Familiarity withimmutable storage, ransomware protection, and data encryption . Experience withautomation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)for backup job management. Strongproblem-solving and analyticalabilities. Excellentdocumentation and communicationskills. Ability to workindependently and collaborativelyin a team environment. Experience handlinghigh-pressure situationsduring data recovery or system failures.
